BROWSING THE WEB WITH NOTES
If you connect directly to the Web, Notes saves Web pages that you visit locally in a Personal Web Navigator database. If you connect through your organization's Domino server, Web pages that you visit are saved on the server in the Server Web Navigator database, along with the pages that other users view.
Both connection methods let you browse while offline and enable you to open already visited pages faster because Notes retrieves them from the Web Navigator database instead of the Web.

Before you begin, ask your administrator if you connect to the Web through a proxy server. If you do, ask for the name or IP address of the proxy server.
1. Make sure you are running TCP/IP by choosing File - Preferences - User Preferences (Macintosh OS X users, Notes - Preferences - User Preferences) and clicking Ports. If you don't see a TCP/IP connection there, click the Start button, then choose Settings - Control Panel - Network to make sure TCP/IP is enabled.
2. From the menu, choose File - Preferences - Location Preferences.
4. If you connect to the Internet through a proxy server, enter the name or IP address of the proxy server in the Proxy field. To configure all proxy settings, click to open the Proxy Server Configuration dialog box.
5. Click the Internet Browser tab.
6. Select either Notes or Notes with Internet Explorer as your browser.
7. Click Save and Close.
To connect to the Web through a Domino server
Before you begin, ask your Domino administrator for the name of the Domino server you'll connect to the Web through.
1. From the menu, choose File - Preferences - Location Preferences.
3. In the Internet browser field, select Notes.
4. In the Retrieve/open pages field, select "from InterNotes server."
5. Click the Servers tab.
6. Enter the server name in the InterNotes server field.
